What are we all about?


In 1998 we started out as a small Namibian HR consulting entity and since then we have grown in size and scope of activities to a point, where today we proudly serve a select group of clients, providing them with innovative, professional and practical business solutions.

Key to our philosophy is the personal involvement of the partners in all our projects and assignments. We regard ourselves as their business and development partners and we know that fundamentally our success is a function of their success. Our focus is to deliver world-class solutions and as long as our clients are doing well, Potentia will do well. When we recruit, we go to extraordinary lengths to ensure that the people we recommend, succeed in their jobs as they are ambassadors of our process. We focus on being objective and on what is best for our client and when we provide solutions, we tell clients what they need to hear and not necessarily what they want to hear. It takes courage to change and our clients (our partners) have proved that they are up to the challenge.

Businesses operate in an environment of constant change and transformation. The paradigm we are currently experiencing is different from any the human race has experienced. Business leaders have to confront challenges of enormous magnitude and complexity and are challenged to manage effectively in a turbulent environment. There is a growing emphasis on management learning to adapt to rapid and unexpected change and developing an ability to not only cope, but to thrive under such conditions. We can no longer plan beyond six months and frequent challenges are becoming a way of life. Consequently more and more companies are choosing to focus on their core business and outsource peripheral functions to specialists – this is where we fit in. 

Potentia is founded on equity and unity in diversity , twin principles which are congruent with the emerging needs of society. In an increasingly interdependent business community, they are essential and fundamental operating principles. Our solutions provide a framework for restructuring relationships and harnessing the innate creativity of individuals.

In conclusion, we believe that organisations are instruments — they are the means through which objectives are achieved. As with any other instrument, organisations are absolutely neutral. It is the human resources who give a business direction and set guidelines to achieve objectives. Therefore, the individual is both the object and activator of sustainable development. Development is sensible only if it centers on individuals . There are many factors which underlie balanced development and prime among them is engagement in work, and so businesses, potentially wield great influence for the personal development and ultimate fulfillment of individuals


The philosophy behind the “ POTENTIA LINK “


The stated intent behind the re-invention of the logo was to create a bolder, more corporate look-and-feel to our signature. At the same time we wanted to reposition ourselves in the minds of our stakeholders. We felt that we needed to migrate the perspective that we have of ourselves, as well as that which our clients have of us, in order to more accurately embody and recognize our professional and corporate identity, which is manifested in the way in which the organization has grown. After following a systematic process with a creative design studio we developed the “Potentia Link”. Visually it is made up of four stylized letters P.

The way in which the design integrates is indicative of a chain or a link and it symbolizes a continuous, seamless and flowing bond between Potentia and our clients. Just as the strength of any chain is the function of the weakest link in that chain, if you remove one of the links the design cannot work and would disintegrate. This disintegration can be interpreted as an inhouse process breakdown or from an external perspective as a breakdown in the client relationship. The different colours indicate where one role or responsibility ends and where the next begins - again the delivery cycle cannot be achieved and completed without the full contribution of one of the links and this symbolizes the synergy between Potentia and our clients. The end product is greater than the sum of it’s parts.

The wording “POTENTIA” in the signature is clean, boldly stated and unmistakable, yet also presented in a simple manner which alludes to our humble yet confident approach.
